While PalmOne could do more to work with developers to avoid this, you do have the ability to remove the offending app in the meantime. If you choose not to, don't come crying to me that your T5 is unstable. It's not a consistent thing where you can say, 'Oh, delete this app and it goes away'.
The only application I've been able to eliminate in this fashion is the RealPlayer 1. I bought the T5 while they were including the keyboard with it.
I wouldn't! It's to work with vendors to fix the problems. To put the burden on the user and just say, 'Well, learn to live without that software' is insulting and unreasonable.
As for apps, have you checked the compatability list on palmfocus. Some of the conflicting apps can be tricky. I'll check out palmfocus though, and see if there are any fixes. Hopefully someone's come up with some sort of workaround. Usually, I give Palm all kinds of slack, because I do like their products.
But like I said, if you're going to give away an accessory with a product, you should make sure none of the installed software breaks it. And I thought we were going to become a 'kinder, gentler' PIC now that some people were able to have the 'desired effect re changing the tone around here'. Silly me! I'm still waiting for the mythical 'color HandEra. I actually think that your problems might lie with your saved and unsaved preferences files. I know that with the previous ROM version for the T5, it had a nasty tendancy to get corrupted and cause apps to randomly crash.
This might be what is bugging you. Also, concerning the keybard driver, its never been the most nice application; but a clean uninstall a program like Uninstall Manager usually makes sure that everything gets off your PDA and then install of the 1.
Apologies that things are like that for your T5, but really, the new ROM did address stability and other issues quite nicely. It is a shame that some programs, even ones in ROM, are problem issues. I'll uninstall the keyboard driver and try again. Originally, I just installed over the old driver. I'll let you know how it goes. Sorry if I sounded really negative. I just get frustrated when things that actually ship with the Palm don't end up playing nice together.
I'm putting this one the front page so people see it. I have to use IE to type this post. I think it's a pop up ad causing the trouble but who knows. This never happened before. In all other ways this update is critical. It lowers my crash count below 1 per day from nearly 5 times per day.
This project is aimed at getting Linux to run on the palmOne Tungsten E device. This involves making a bootloader for the PalmOS 5, building a working Kernel, and making a distribution that will fit the.
Do not download this game if you have important appointments shortly. You may well get addicted and miss them. You have been warned! This game works under PalmOS 5. Bubble Shooter 2. It is optimized for.
Then, reconnect your Palm device. Though serial devices are now considered legacy, Windows 10 still retains limited support for them and can HotSync over serial just fine. However, a modern PC is unlikely to have a serial port, in which case you'll have to purchase a serial-to-USB adapter. While there are many such devices on the market, this one has been tested and proven working for HotSync on Windows Palm itself also released a licensed serial-to-USB adapter known as the "Palm Connect Kit", but this adapter is highly outdated and is unlikely to work with Windows Right-click on your adapter and choose "Properties" , then switch to the "Port Settings" tab.
Here, you'll want to set "Bits per second" to for the fastest HotSync. You'll need it in Step 4. While Bluetooth was once a complicated protocol to get working with HotSync, with Windows 10, it couldn't be easier. Simply open the Windows 10 Settings app and navigate to Devices.
Make sure Bluetooth is enabled. Leave this screen open to keep your PC discoverable by nearby Bluetooth devices. Next, on your Palm device, go to the Prefs app and choose Bluetooth. Make sure Bluetooth is On. Your Palm will search for nearby Bluetooth devices and show your PC in the list.
The PC name will match the message on your Windows 10 Bluetooth settings screen. Next, your Palm will inform you about virtual serial ports, but you can ignore this entirely. Windows 10's Bluetooth drivers come pre-configured with virtual serial support, so no further configuration is needed. Simply touch "Next" on your Palm until you reach the final setup screen.
This one's pretty straightforward. Simply extract your Palm Desktop 6. Naturally, you can ignore any prompts to register your software or device as there's no one left to register them with. However, you should also ignore any prompts to run HotSync just yet. If prompted to HotSync, choose Skip and proceed to Step 4. As a side note, you should also verify that Palm Desktop is configured to run as Administrator this should be enabled by default.
Before your Palm can communicate with Palm Desktop, you'll need to configure HotSync Manager to listen on the same channel as you're using to connect. If not, you can run it by searching "HotSync Manager" in the Start menu. Then, right-click on the system tray icon and choose "Settings". In HotSync Manager settings, navigate to the Connections tab. There you'll see a list of checkboxes for available connection types. Make sure the boxes for any connection types you will be using are checked.
If you're using serial, you will also need to assign the COM port indicated in Step 2b. Once your connection settings are correct, click "Done" and HotSync Manager will minimize itself back to the system tray. For devices running Palm OS 2. This can be done from the HotSync Manager Applications tab. Click "Done" to accept changes and HotSync Manager will minimize itself back to the system tray.
You can now add any apps you want to install through the traditional Install menu in Palm Desktop and run HotSync without crashes! Note that HotSync application settings are applied per-user account, so Package Installer will not be disabled for other devices synced to the same PC. You can always view other account settings from the dropdown box at the top of HotSync Manager. With Palm Desktop installed and HotSync Manager configured to your connection type, you may now proceed.
A window will appear prompting you to choose or create an account for your Palm, then begin transferring data.
