Sony Cybershot Lens Stuck inside!!! I have the exact same problem with my Cyber-shot; the lens is stuck inside. After trying everything to loosen it like wedging a razor knife between the sections, even dropping it or banging it against a book, etc non of which I recommend, I finally Fuji S camera problem Tape will not even hold door closed!
The retainers on the hinged door are fine naturally it's the body! The retainers don't meet each other as one slides the door closed and the spring loading makes the door pop open.
Can a person use machine screws and latches or what??? I took an unused still in package, but old tape and recorded and it has the same, is this the camera or the tape? Thanks for any help you can give. I've acquired an older Minolta 8mm video camera: the tape door opened, but tape was caught inside.
I wiggled the tape out, and now the door won't close. I suspect I bent the closing aperature s or?? Where can I get this repaired? I live between Louisville, Ky to my south and Columbus, Indiana to my north.
Thanks much! These days, it is easier to sell a broken camera as-is auction style somewhere, then it is to repair it. My canon vixia hv30 camcorder is not reading tapes anymore. It rewinds and forwards and reports the tape position but the tape counter does not roll showing only dashes as if the tape is empty. All this started when i put in a cassette in which the tape has somehow become crunched. There was some pushing involved and the camera auto-ejected teh tape a couple of time before i realized that the tape inside was crunched.
